Therapist Bio
I am a BACP-registered psychodynamic counsellor offering counselling and psychotherapy for adults.
Psychodynamic therapy is a holistic approach which encourages a deeper understanding of how our lived experiences affect how we think, feel and relate to ourselves and others. It seeks to understand the “why” behind problems, rather than only treating symptoms, leading to lasting psychological change and improved relationships.
Counselling can offer a space that is just for you- somewhere you can speak openly about whatever is troubling you and feel listened to with compassion and without judgement.
My aim as a counsellor is to bring insight, warmth and care to every conversation. Helping you explore your feelings, understand your story and to build a steadier, more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.
In addition to my core training in psychodynamic counselling, I have also undertaken extensive training in grief and bereavement. This enables me to sensitively support people through loss and grief.
I’m a certified teacher of Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes. Writing and journalling can be powerful ways to come to know and understand ourselves, and I encourage clients to bring their creative ideas and practices into therapy, should they wish to.
I am also a qualified mindfulness teacher and bring mindfulness and mindful awareness into my work and life.
My areas of specialism:
- Bereavement, grief and loss (including non-bereavement loss)
- Major life transitions, such as identity shifts, career changes, or midlife and ageing
- Relationship difficulties rooted in early experience or long-standing patterns
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Seeking deeper self-connection, creativity, meaning, and purpose
