I work both as a massage therapist and teach massage to a professional level at the Fold as part of the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork
I qualified with BCMB with a level 4 qualification awarded by the Massage Training Institute and am on the CNHC register.
HOW I WORK
I have effectively treated many many conditions over many years. I am interested in the relationship of each client with the condition they have.
It is this relationship and helping each client find their own body again which enables change to happen whether dealing with acute or chronic conditions.
I also massage people wishing to celebrate their life.

How I work
Fundamentally the approach with Holistic Massage is based around oil-based Swedish massage (
I also offer Deep Tissue Oscillation Therapy which is a proven technology used as a non-invasive, non-traumatic treatment which is well-received by patients. Because of it’s gentle application it is a unique treatment for acute and chronic injury, and day one post-operative. Clinically proven effects include: significant pain reduction, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, detoxification, oedema reduction and haematoma reduction with enhancement of nutrients returning to the tissues to promote the natural healing process.
We each hold and manifest tension in different ways, physically and emotionally. All sessions will invite the mind and body to relax, this will enable one to think more clearly, to face the challenges and to share joys of life. There is no set routine, just careful attention to your individual treatment; releasing the tension and working with the whole of you to invite restoration of your inner balance.

I am a mother, a wife and a grandmother and I care passionately about the benefits of massage. When I retired from my previous job, I decided to train with BCMB as a massage therapist and have never regretted this. I get a huge amount of joy from seeing tired and stressed people leave their treatment looking so much more relaxed and happy! I have a Massage Training Institute Practitioner Diploma in Holistic Massage & Bodywork, Anatomy,
I am also a Childbirth & Parenting Consultant, and an Associate Midwifery lecturer – I love cooking, reading, running and singing!
Holistic Massage is a “mindful” massage treatment encompassing varied methods of touch; a fusion of different massage techniques used intuitively with each client – responding to the client’s needs at that moment in time. Holistic massage relaxes, soothes, reduces stress and eases tired aching muscles. It switches on the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, reducing blood pressure, slowing the heart rate and digestive system, and reducing stress hormones. Clients say that they feel relaxed and happier, less stressed and less “tight” after a treatment.

Having been interested, for many years in massage and bodywork but side-lined with another career and raising a family, Colette finally saw an opportunity to follow her interest in 2013, successfully completing the Level 4 Holistic Massage course with Anatomy and Physiology with BCMB (Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork). This started her deep connection to massage and bodywork and Colette has enjoyed building a successful practice in Worcestershire under the name of Balancing Hands. She further developed her knowledge and practice through additional training, joining the BCMB Worcester teaching team as an assistant in 2014 where, over a period of 4 years, she developed and nurtured a love for teaching her subject. After achieving her teaching qualification, she became an accredited tutor for the Massage Training Institute in 2018 and Colette now leads, together with her colleague Cleo, the BCMB Worcester teaching team who run highly recognised accredited massage courses here at The Fold.
How I work
Whether you are dealing with something such as injury, pain, stress, or need time and space for you. You are individual and unique; therefore, I work with you, using a wide variety of massage techniques, creating bespoke, nurturing massage with the aim of helping you establish balance and equilibrium of the body and mind.
I work from the Fold Natural Therapy Centre; I also offer a mobile massage service for clients who find it difficult to leave their home. I am a member of both the Massage Training Institute (MTI) and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
