The Harcourt Players are made up of Simon Othen and Luke Wurmli, who work closely together to help bring to life wonderful films from the silent movie era. Named after Simon’s grandmother who performed live music on piano in the 1920’s and 1930’s, they love what they do and they do what they love.
This year’s performance includes Buster Keaton in a 20 minute romp called ‘NEIGHBOURS,’ Laurel and Hardy in the hilarious ‘SAILORS BEWARE’ and Buster Keaton in the wonderful ‘BLACKSMITH.’
Each film lasts about 20 minutes with an intermission after the second film. Sit back and watch these movies and glimpse across at The Harcourt Players as they weave their way through these greats from the silent movie era.
Simon Othen has been performing on guitar and mandolin all his adult life, touring up and down the country with numerous acts such as Deborah Rose, Machine Breakers and many more. He is much admired and his superb feel for sound and movement make up a massive part of the Harcourt Players.
