Acupuncture developed thousands of years ago. It is based on the principle that good health depends on achieving optimum vitality and balance.

Acupuncture is still going strongly in China today where it is practised alongside Western medicine. It is also becoming increasingly popular in the Western hemisphere.

Chinese medicine believes that diseases and illnesses change and develop constantly and differ from person to person. Acupuncture reflects this as each treatment is adjusted to according to a person's signs and symptoms. Acupuncture aims to treat the person rather than the manifestation of an illness. By treating the person it can get to the root of the disease/illness.

Acupuncture uses thin disposable needles which are inserted to stimulate areas of the body or vital energy points to promote and regulate ‘Qi’. It is through these points that relief of symptoms are gained.
