The Fold® EcoCafé at Bransford is offering a free cup of organic tea or coffee to those who have made a commitment to take part in the ’big switch off’ between 4.30 and 6.30pm on Friday 2nd November. The Fold® which has a strong environmental ethos is keen to encourage people to take part in this years “Switch it off” campaign, which will be monitored by Central Networks. Steve from The Fold® said “This is just one small way we can make all help make a measurable difference to our carbon output during what is usually peak consumption time”.
The offer runs from the 29th October until 5.00pm on Saturday 3rd November.
Background Switch it Off is an energy saving campaign covering Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, designed to show the electrical savings that can be achieved when a lot of people turn off unwanted lights and electrical appliances left on standby.
Running from 29th October to 2nd November, culminating in ‘Switch Off’ day on Friday 2nd November, when Central Networks will monitor the region's electricity use between 4:30pm and 6:30pm - the period when peak daily consumption usually occurs.
