Pat holds the Association of Reflexologists qualification and is also trained in holistic massage, Indian head massage and aromatherapy. She works part time as a nurse, and has learned through her years of healthcare experience and as a therapist the vital link between good health and the need for balance in body, mind and spirit. She also has a good insight into the causes of ill health and understands the importance of preventative health care and good nutrition.
She is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
With this holistic therapy Pat works on the feet and hands to heal the whole person, not just the prevailing symptoms. It helps to activate the healing powers within the body, and is based on ancient techniques that have been adapted for today and have been practised for almost a century. It produces a state of relaxation and homeostasis or balance.
The body’s own healing facilities often fail to work properly because the vital energy pathways are blocked due to degeneration and the stresses and strains of life. Reflexology redresses that situation by reducing stress, accelerating the repair work done by the body, and by boosting the immune system.
Each foot and hand mirrors the corresponding half of the body and the organs, systems and structures within each vertical zone. Through her training and experience Pat is able to detect imbalances, and then by special pressure and massage techniques she works the various points or reflexes in each zone on the feet or hands to help restore balance and strengthen energy flow and therefore help specific conditions.
Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:
Reflexology also helps to keep the body in a state of wellbeing and balance and so is helpful for healthy people. It is also suitable for children and the elderly.
This is probably the oldest therapy known to us and is most effective in relieving the strains and tension of the day. It is particularly beneficial for stiff and aching muscles and joints, and for before and after exercise and sports activities.
It is also used to help stress related conditions such as headaches, insomnia, eczema, asthma, digestive disorders, low immunity and menstrual and menopausal problems.
Pat can adapt a massage for you according to your requirements. You can have a soothing and relaxing massage or one that is more invigorating, or a combination of both, with or without the use of aromatherapy oils.
Essential oils have been used in many cultures for thousands of years to treat illness and promote wellbeing and beauty. Pat has a wide understanding of the properties of the oils that we use today, and she can guide you in your choice of which oils may be most suitable for specific problems.
Aromatherapy oils contribute to the healing process and influence the emotional and physical wellbeing.
You will be surprised how relaxing and beneficial this treatment can be. Without even having to undress, your shoulders, neck and head are thoroughly massaged to induce a feeling of complete relaxation.
Head massage is beneficial for relieving stress and tension and can really help you to feel less tired and boost your self esteem.
