ALLY'S CHEAP SCOTTISH NIGHT IN
STRONG doses of whisky humour are being shipped in to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Robbie Burns' birth at the Fold. On offer is lively entertainment, haggis, neeps and tatties and Scots snacks and refreshments. For English folk who haven't tried haggis, we really recommend this as a truly tartan opportunity to taste a dish that they will be pleasantly surprised by.
The haggis will be piped in, although like everything for this evening it won't be in the traditional sense but in an accessible post-modern fashion suitable for Sassenachs to laugh at!
After dinner, revelers will be entertained with comedy renditions relating to Burns and Scotland. Later the music will be turned up a notch for dancing with a wee touch of anarchic Scottish energy thrown in for good measure! DJ Wee Jamina will be bringing you stomping tunes from bands with fine Scots connections. She says: “See you there or you’ll hae me tae deal wi”.
Burners are invited to make the most of the evening by dressing in as Scottish a garb as they can find and the Umbrella Factory hope to see a few kilts and punky tartan donned for the occasion.
Entry £3 / £10 with haggis. Doors open 7pm, food 7.30pm. Drinks, deserts and snacks available to buy throughout the evening.
Tickets from The Fold on 01886 833633.
